The Alpha Kappa Lambda Education Foundation, supporting its chapter at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, helps support academic and need-based scholarships. Typically, applications are judged on AKL ideals; scholarship, leadership, self support, loyalty, and judeo-christian values. For generations at the University of Illinois, AKL has built “Men of Character” and leaders who “Make a Difference” in our world. Success has always been measured based upon academic, athletic and social/community performance and development as future leaders.
AKL understands scholastic achievement is paramount to a successful university career, and more importantly, a successful career after college. All Active members are required to maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA each semester of their membership.
